I always liked that space and remember it fondly as being a lovely cafe tucked nicely away from the hustle and bustle of the Old Port. I look forward to checking it out.
Btw Bakery on The Hill has gingerbread with whipped eggnog ‘frosting’ on sale today. Their posted hours are now eleven am to seven pm every day.
So, is it a bar or a cafe? If it’s a bar, then I don’t want it to be my neighbor. If it’s a cafe or shop, them I’m down with it. We have to deal with enough drunks on our street when the bars close. I’m all about keeping Pleasant St. pleasant.
It looks like it’s more a bar than a cafe. In his liquor license application the owner estimates that 75% of revenue will come from alcohol sales and 25% from food. The hours listed in the application are 5 pm to 11:30 pm on weekdays.
Ugh.
I’ve heard buzz that the newly leased first floor of the parking garage at Fore and Pearl is to be an upscale pool/lounge.
pool as in billiards
Are you sure about that? The PPH reported earlier this week that the Registry of Deeds is renting that space for its title search office.
Roma’s pizza had it’s grand opening today on Exchange street.

Interesting. I think TGIF’s closing was a loss there. I don’t eat there but it’s still a fun place for a family to go. This city needs more fun eateries.
Aspara on fore street is closed too. Space is for lease.
