I had read before that the Phase II of the Jordan’s meat project (Sebago brewing/hampton Inn) was going to have a grocery store that was going to make the neighbors very happy. In the new planning board backup material it states
“The middle street retail units are expected to be occupied by a multi-department “urban grocer” with a health food/prepared foods and take-out component”
I asked somebody at Rosemont if it was them and they said no. Can’t be whole foods or trader joes( I don’t think).
Any ideas?
My first guess is that they’ve designated the space for a grocery but don’t yet have a specific vendor who’s committed to the project. Then again perhaps Shaws or Hannaford are planning a mini-store at that location.
No, it was intended for multi retail stores
But they got the interest of a grocer which
Is taking up all the spots. Info will probably
Leak today as there is the planning board/neighborhood
Walk through on India later today

Street but neighbors are weary due to no parking
That whole area will look so different in a year or two
Neither Shaws nor Hannaford does boutique sized stores as that’s not their model. Same holds true for Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s which suggests someone locally might be involved.
True cat. It pretty much has to be
Rosemont from the description
Do we have any other grocery/prepared food
Places in southern Maine that fit that?
Could it be the folks who tried to open a market near Scratch Baking? Or perhaps an expansion of one of the locally owned natural food stores in the market?
It’d be my guess that John Naylor ain’t going to announce anything publicly even if it is him at this point.
