The Cafe at the Castle will be open from 7am-1pm during the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. The Café has outdoor seating overlooking the pond and offers Coffee by Design and morning pastries from Standard, Bam Bam, Ten Ten Pié and C Salt Market. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Deering Oaks.
Checkout the cafe in the castle if you hit the farmers market on Saturdays. Friends of Deering Oaks is serving up CBD coffee and treats which is powering my morning marketing trip.
Visited the Cafe at the Castle during the Farmer’s Market on Saturday and we were delighted by the offerings served in such a beautiful setting. Fresh pastries, CBD coffee, even gluten free options! What a great addition to the Saturday morning Market experience, and bonus! summer access to that jewel of a building and patio.
It’s so convenient and fun to be able to get coffee and goodies at the Castle at the Deering Oaks pond! The assortment of baked goods is fabulous – really some of the best baked goods in Portland. It’s a great meeting up place for my various family members to take a coffee break and gab for a few minutes, too.
I was visiting Portland recently and saw a sign at the Farmers’ Market about a Café in the Castle so I inquired at the information table about where this cafe could be found. What a nice surprise to find this handsome little building stocked with a selection of baked goods and serving up a strong cup of coffee. This is a great addition to the market experience, especially for someone like me who is “from away”. The café experience provided a pleasant opportunity to strike up a conversation with strangers who share a common passion for good food, and commitment to their local community. Kudos to the Friends of Deering Oaks for organizing this volunteer effort, you have done a very good thing for the park! Where can I send a check to help keep this project funded?
Cafe at the Castle is an awesome chance to get your fave sweet & savory treats from all the best places…Ten Ten Pié, Standard Baking Co., Bam Bam Bakery, C Salt Gourmet and yummy cold brew coffee from CBD!! Great chance to hit up the farmers market and snack whilst doing so 🙂
It is so nice to duck into the Castle to grab a cup of good coffee and a treat to take on our travels through the Saturday market. What a good idea to have coffee available on those busy Saturday mornings, for customers and vendors, or even those just enjoying the park! Thank you Friends of The Castle!
How wonderful it was to find the Castle open and full of delightful treats. It was great to grab a cup of coffee … By Design and a baguette from standard bakery. I must say the hand pie bt 10 by 10 was a real TBO.
Why does this resemble a spammed yelp review page? Lol. All these names new?
Nick, I think the Friends of Deering Oaks are trying to get more people visiting the Cafe at the Castle on Saturdays. They’re hopeful that someone will be interested to lease the space and run a cafe there year round.
