Bull Jagger Closing
Bull Jagger has announced that they’re closing up shop.
As some of you know, the brewery is for sale. Bull and Jagger are going their separate ways, and under the circumstances, we have no choice but to close the company. In the coming weeks, we will have fresh beer to package and sell. Our lagers are and will be available in Maine through our distributor, retailers, and to the public while supplies last.
Looking to start your own brewery? Their equipment is for sale on Craig’s List.
Oriental Table Closing/Moving
Oriental Table on Exchange Street will be closing by the end of this month. Owner Yan Lam tells me that they’re closing due to difficulty with the landlord. Lam plans on re-opening once he’s found a new spot.
Oriental Table has been a fixture on Exchange Street for more than 17 years.
Figa’s Second Goodbye
The Golden Dish has published details from his recent meal at Figa and owner Lee Farrington’s announcement that she’s closing up the restaurant for another few months until April or May to “regroup”.
Before we left I went up to Lee to say how much we enjoyed dinner and glad that she was back.
But then she dropped her bombshell. Figa would be closed again, this time for about two months. She still needed to rethink her concept, tidy up her home life and figure it all out.
I didn’t understand. If it ain’t broke why fix it?
SoPo Wok Inn Closing
According to a report in today’s Press Herald, the Wok Inn in South Portland is closing as of today.
The closing may seem sudden to its fans, but the restaurant’s owners say that its original purpose, to put the Lee children, graduates of Scarborough High School, through college, was accomplished some years ago…It’s a bittersweet time for the family. They’re looking forward to leaving behind the grueling schedule the restaurant requires, but they’re also saying good-bye to longtime customers who have become friends and regulars, like Munson.
Figa Closing at End of December
Figa has announced that they are closing up the restaurant as of December 29th.
WE HERE AT FIGA ARE HEAVY HEARTED AND SAD TO SAY THAT DECEMBER 29TH WILL BE OUR LAST DAY. WE HAVE DECIDED TO CLOSE AND RE GROUP AND FIGURE OUR NEXT STEP…. NOT TOO SURE WHAT THAT WILL CONSIST OF….EITHER RE-OPENING WITH SOMETHING MORE LOW KEY AND FUN…OR MOVE ON ALTOGETHER….TO BE CONTINUED AT THIS POINT.
The message on their website goes on to say that they’ll be retaining their licenses in order to do catering and private functions.
