Monday — Central Provision’s Ian Driscoll is serving an Okami pop-up at Bao Bao tonight, Space Gallery is screening the movie City of Gold at 1pm at at 7:30pm, Coffee by Design is opening their newly renovated shop on Congress Street, and The Velveteen Habit is serving a dinner at the Beard House in NYC.

Tuesday — Pai Men is teaming up with Allagash that will pair 12 of their beers with an izakaya menu for the evening.

Wednesday — the first Monument Square Farmers’ Market of the season is taking place.

Thursday — Sea Glass is holding a Justin Vineyard wine dinner, and The Great Lost Bear is showcasing beer from Redhook Brewing.

Saturday — and the first Deering Oaks Farmers’ Market of the season is taking place.

Sunday — the 2016 Chopped Challenge is taking place as is the Ballet in the Brewhouse collaboration between Allagash and Portland Ballet, and the weekly Crofters & Artisan Market is taking place.

This Saturday, Liquid Riot is releasing Straight To Black:Out, their barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout.

Straight To Black:Out is a bold and rich Russian Imperial Stout. We aged two batches, one in a bourbon barrel and one in a port wine barrel, to display the effects that types of barrels can have on beer. The port barrel was sourced from Fenestra Winery, a small port producer in Livermore, California. The bourbon barrel was sourced from Buffalo Trace, the legendary bourbon producer in Frankfurt, Kentucky.

Friday — The first screening of Noma: My Perfect Storm is taking place, and Maine & Loire is holding a Savio Soares wine tasting.

Saturday — Liquid Riot is releasing Straight To Black:Out, Northspore is being featured at Rosemont’s Meet Your Maker dinner, a 2nd screening of Noma: My Perfect Storm and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Sunday — a 3rd screening of Noma: My Perfect Storm and the weekly Crofters & Artisan Market is taking place.

Monday — SoPo Wines is sponsoring Good Wines for a Good Cause, a tasting of wines from 25 wineries, as a benefit for Cancer Community Center.

Wednesday — The Portland Symphony is holding their 15th Annual Wine Dinner, chefs from Evo, Union, The Honey Paw, Fore Street and the Harraseeket Inn are collaborating on the 5-course meal. Lolita, Maine & Loire and the Pomegranate Inn are collaborating on a dinner event to benefit Portland Stage.

Thursday — Joao Menéres from Quinta do Romeu will be at Eventide to talk about Q de R and their Branca Reserva, GMRI is hosting the 3rd Annual Gulf of Maine Seafood Celebration, and there will be an beer & cheese tasting at the Public Market House.

Friday — the first Abitare Project dinner of the season is taking place in Yarmouth, Rising Tide is holding an event featuring the newly released Maine Island Trail Ale and charcuterie from Otherside Deli.

Saturday — It’s the opening day of the Milk & Honey Herbal Farm Cafe, Geary’s is holding a party for the release of their Summer Ale, there will be a wine tasting at LeRoux Kitchen, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Sunday — The grand opening of the weekly Crofters & Artisan Market is taking place, Chefs Nikos Regas from Emilitsa, Thomas Pisha-Duffly from The Honey Paw and Austin Miller from Mami are competing in the Boston Lamb Jam, and Home Catering and The Farm Stand are collaborating on a Spring Chicken Dinner.

A pair of events are taking place next week that team the restaurant industry and two leading art organizations:

The Bangor Daily News has posted a report on the weekly Sunday Crofter and Artisan Market set to open April 10th in East Bayside.

Scores of vendors from across Maine are lining up for the chance to peddle their wares in Portland’s emerging neighborhood of brewers, coffee roasters and artists. So far, the interest is statewide.

Goat milk caramels from Copper Tail Farm in Waldoboro, Herbal Revolution’s mineral and fire tonics, Dulse and Rugosa seaweed body care, Shepherds and Such Homestead beeswax and wool craft and Portland’s Liquid Riot Bottling Company are all on board.

The Portland episode of the new Cooking Channel show Extra Virgin is airing Wednesday night, according a report from the Press Herald.

The series premiered March 2 with an episode about the Grand Canyon. In the Maine episode, titled “The Love Boat in Portland,” Mazar and Corcos take a weekend for themselves and have a romantic dinner aboard a houseboat. The show features seven recipes, including a lobster roll recipe provided by the Portland Lobster Co. and three recipes from The Well at Jordan’s Farm: seared cod with farro, lamb-ricotta meatballs, and wood-grilled pork with roasted new potatoes.

A video crew was in Portland last July recording the sessions that will appear in the show.

Tuesday — Elaine Alden and Thomas Takashi Cooke are holding  a pop-up at Bao Bao for Izakaya Minato, and the Maine Restaurant Association awards banquet is taking place.

Wednesday — there will be an Italian wine tasting at Old Port Wine Merchants.

Friday — the New England Craft Beer Summit is taking place.

Saturday — The Thirsty Pig is hosting a release party for the Real Ones Bissell x Austin collaboration beer, ‘Gasharoo is taking place at Novare Res, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Sunday — Chefs Rob Evans, Josh Potocki, Nate Nadeau and Renee Lohrey are collaborating with Oxbow to hold A Maple Celebration, and the 30th annual Chocolate Lovers’ Fling is taking place.
