The new Rosemont Market in the West End opened earlier today.
They’re located at the corner of Brackett and Pine Streets. The market will be open until 8pm tonight and 9-6 tomorrow.
Soon after the new West End location passed its final inspection yesterday afternoon Rosemont Market had a truck of supplies on its way to stock the shelves.
Rosemont hopes to be open to the public this weekend and may be open as soon as this afternoon.
Monday — it’s the opening of the newly renovated Bard Coffee.
Tuesday — Lois’ Natural Marketplace is opening their new India Street location, there will be a local foods networking breakfast at Local Sprouts, Rosemont on Brighton is holding a wine tasting.
Wednesday — The Monument Square Farmers’ Market is taking place.
Thursday — a beer and cheese tasting is taking place at the Public Market House.
Saturday — the Deering Oaks Farmers’ Market is taking place.
Sunday — Black Birch will be the guest chefs at The Bearded Lady for Black Box.
Wich, Please — From Away co-author Malcolm Bedell is launching his new Rockland food truck, Wich, Please, on Tuesday. It’s located in Buoy Park on the Rockland waterfront. You can see a full menu on the WP website.

The owners of Evo(twitter, website, facebook, instagram) have announced they’ll be opening on June 7. The “53-seat kitchen and bar…will serve a modern fusion of Eastern Mediterranean cuisines”.
Evo is located in the Hyatt Hotel at the Corner of Fore and Union. It’s owned by the Prentice Hospitality Group which also owns the Chebeague Island Inn and is leading the development of the Portland Company complex on Munjoy Hill.

Lois’ Natural Marketplace has announced they’ll be opening their new store in Portland on May 19th.
Figgy’s Takeout is expecting to open their shop on Walker Street by the end of May.
Bite into Maine has announced they’re opening their food truck in Fort Williams Park for season on May 9th.
Wing Lee II has opened on Saint John Street in the space formerly occupied by Jan Mae. The original Wing Lee is located in Scarborough.
Tawakal Halal and the Arabian Days coffee shop have cleared out of 3 Deering Ave in Bramhall Square freeing up some retail space in an increasingly popular stretch of Congress Street.
Earlier this month Discount Halal closed their shop on Washington Ave. The space is now for rent.
Taqueria Tequila has gone out of business. The space at 249 Saint John Street is for rent.
MK Kitchen(website, facebook) have announced they’ll be opening this coming Sunday. MK is the creation of Mitchell Kaldrovich, former chef at the Inn by the Sea, and his wife Lisa who has worked the past 8 years at Fore Street. MK Kitchen will serve a menu of contemporary American cuisine which Kaldrovich described earlier this year as “simple handmade food, all from scratch from desserts to pastas”.
