Venue Music Bar is now open for business. The bar/music venue is located at 865 Forest Ave, the former location of Mexico Lindo. The weekend’s line-up includes performances by VINX, Twiddle and Sean Chambers.

Havana South to Open Today
Havana South is scheduled to open for business today. The menu is “American cuisine with a Latin twist”. You can make a dinner reservation using OpenTable. The restaurant plans on starting lunch service in July and opening a butcher shop onsite in September.
Bubble Maineia on Temple Open
Bubble Maineia Dessert & Noodle Bar on Temple Street is now open for business. They’re located next to The Works Bakery Cafe in the old Morrison’s Chowder space.
Bayside Bowl Open
According to a report on Portland Daily Photo, Bayside Bowl, the new bowling alley, concert venue and pub in Portland is now open for business.
Local Sprouts Now Open
Local Sprouts Cafe/Bomb Diggity Bakery had their grand opening celebration last night and are now open for business. They’re located at 645 Congress Street near Longfellow Square in what used to be Portland Hall.
Cookie Jar was Jammed
The new issue of The Forecaster has a report on last weekend’s (re)opening of The Cookie Jar in Cape Elizabeth.
Donna Piscopo said there was a line of customers waiting when the doors opened at 6 a.m. She said they planned to close at 6 p.m., but were unable to lock up until 8:45 p.m. in order to serve everyone.
“People were literally jumping up and down when they came in,” she said. “It is overwhelming, but wonderful and exciting at the same time.”

Chiang Mai has reopened after completing their move from Union Street to Washington Ave. They’re in the space formerly occupied by Loco Pollo. Their old space on Union Street is being converted by Havana South into a butcher Shop. |

Harbor Scoops Now Open
Harbor Scoops has opened for business. The ice cream shop is owned by Mike Rolyos who also operates A Victory Cafe in Monument Square.
Mt Desert Island Ice Cream Opening
