According to a report on Portland Daily Photo, Bayside Bowl, the new bowling alley, concert venue and pub in Portland is now open for business.

Local Sprouts Cafe/Bomb Diggity Bakery had their grand opening celebration last night and are now open for business. They’re located at 645 Congress Street near Longfellow Square in what used to be Portland Hall.

The new issue of The Forecaster has a report on last weekend’s (re)opening of The Cookie Jar in Cape Elizabeth.

Donna Piscopo said there was a line of customers waiting when the doors opened at 6 a.m. She said they planned to close at 6 p.m., but were unable to lock up until 8:45 p.m. in order to serve everyone.

“People were literally jumping up and down when they came in,” she said. “It is overwhelming, but wonderful and exciting at the same time.”

Chiang Mai has reopened after completing their move from Union Street to Washington Ave. They’re in the space formerly occupied by Loco Pollo. Their old space on Union Street is being converted by Havana South into a butcher Shop.

The Cookie Jar has reopened today. The bakery had been almost entirely sold out by the time I stopped by late this afternoon.

Harbor Scoops has opened for business. The ice cream shop is owned by Mike Rolyos who also operates A Victory Cafe in Monument Square.

Mount Desert Island Ice Cream is scheduled to open their new shop on Exchange Street today Thursday (according to a report in the comments).

Simple Sandwich has opened for business on Dana Street in the former location of Papaya King. As the name suggests the menu is primarily sandwiches with some salads and sides thrown in for good measure. They plan on staying open until 2 am Tuesday through Sunday.

Urban General Store has opened on Congress Street near the intersection with Park Street.

Siano’s new location in the Old Port is scheduled to open for lunch today. The new pizzeria is at the former site of Una (and Q’s and Portland Pie) on Fore Street.
