The number of local coffee roasters has significantly expanded over the past decade and many run cafes where you can try their coffee such as Arabica, Bard, Coffee by Design, Rwanda Bean, Speckled Ax, Tandem in Portland, as well as Elements and Time & Tide in Biddeford.
But there are also a growing number of roasters you can try by visiting coffee shops and restaurants that don’t roast their own and have opted to bring in beans from elsewhere in the state or the country. Here are the ones I know of:
- 44 North – Central Provisions
- Blue Streak – Terlingua
- Bucklyn Coffee – Forage
- Carrabassett Coffee – Crooked Mile Cafe or Evo
- East Alstead Roasting – Night Moves Bakery
- Flight Coffee Co. – The Proper Cup
- George Howell Coffee – HiFi Donuts
- La Colombe – Navis Cafe
- Little Wolf Coffee Roasters – Hilltop Coffee
- Parlor Coffee – Rose Foods
- Portrait Coffee – Cong Tu Bot
- Rock City Coffee – The Garrison
- Seacoast Coffee – Omi’s Coffee Shop or Sisters Gourmet Deli
- Speedwell Coffee Roasters – The Purple House
- Vermont Artisans – La Mega food truck
- Vivid Coffee Roasters – Little Woodfords
