Local Sprouts Cafe has gone out of business. They served their last meal late last week.
Local Sprouts opened their cafe at 645 Congress Street on June 5, 2010. They operated as a cooperative, owned and led collaboratively by their employees.

Oh I really loved that place. I’m sad to see it go. I wonder what happened?

Hate to predict why but losses like Local Sprouts, if forced out due to rising rents — dilute the neighborhood feel that living on the outskirt of downtown worth the added costs.
this coop was one of the reasons we love to visit portland! what a sad loss.
