Coffee By Design was launched in 1994 by Mary Allen Lindemann and Alan Spear at 620 Congress Street.

Arabica opened in August of 1995 at 16 Free Street and moved to its current location September 2008.

Tandem opened their first location on August 22, 2012, and their bakery on Congress Street two years later.

Bard opened April 6, 2009.
