The Cheese Shop of Portland was opened on September 28, 2018 by co-owners Mary and Will Sissle. They moved to 107 Washington Ave on November 1, 2019.

The shop was renamed Sissle and Daughters Cheesemongers an Grocers in late October 2024.

Portland Food Map launched in 2007 as a simple directory of the local food community.
