I got somewhat vague info from a reliable source that the guys from Novare took over warehouse space somewhere off commercial street and are going to be brewing their own beers and have a bar on location. Looking to do a lot of collaboration brewing with other Maine brewers.
Anybody heard anything about this at all? He heard they are looking for a September opening.
Nick, Very interesting. I hope it turns out to be true. Hopefully a PFM reader or Novare Res themselves can clarify.
I’m gonna take it personal if you don’t add my Cabot Farmers Annex to the under construction. Don’t tell me it’s not local enough to add, we’re all new englanders, yessah.
Heard from a 4th reliable source about the new Novare project. Def a brewpub/distillery. Looks like Eric the owner of Novare will be brewing himself. I know it’s next to Pierce Atwood so it has to be that Nine stones building whose lease sign came down a month ago.
Also multiple sources have the anchor tenant of the huge Bayside Development(Maritime Landing) being a Dave and Busters. Certainly not something Portland Food Map worthy as it’s a big chain but good know there will be a place bringing more people to downtown and some adult fun with beer. Wonder what will be the restaurant at Thompson’s point?
So your the manager of the Cabots store on Commercial St? I’ll have to come on by once you open to say hello. My first read of Cabot’s parent company was that it was a massive agricultural company. But it does seem to be collectively owned by the farmers so perhaps thats ok? When will you be opening?
I did contact Novare when you first commented and it does sound like they’ve got a new venture underway but he was not ready to provide details. I was holding off on adding it to the list unti then. However with the data you and other have emailed it seems time.
lol, no I’m not the manager. I’m just messing around cause you didn’t add something I peeped in with. Hard to be the first with new stuff on this site, you guys are too fast. Plus I just like cheese in general.
I guess one of the Novare workers said they’re really hoping to open by the end of the year. Interesting how the rules play out because no other brewpub has a distillery. Hopefully the city or state doesn’t pull some rule 86579 out and say it goes against something. I drove by that nine stones building today and could def see work going on in there. I can’t think of any other spot where it could be going but I’ll find out for sure on Tuesday.
Oh and any update on Blue Lobster Urban Winery? I thought that was a really great idea and I know they’re working on the back of that building but haven’t seen anything going on where the winery/restaurant would be.
Last I heard, they were hoping to open in September. I haven’t much activity going on at the site on India St.
Oh I think can take pride in how many things you’ve been the first to mention.
